SHREENA AMIN

BEN: Name/Age?

SA: Shreena Amin, 41

BEN: What do you do with your days/profession?

SA: Tech Executive + Soon to Be Restaurateur

BEN: Food you can’t live without?

SA: Butter. Seriously, butter makes everything better. Is there anything some good butter and a good piece of bread can’t solve?

BEN: What do you feel most proud of accomplishing or doing in your life so far and how does it make you feel?

SA: Starting and selling a company. And everything that goes with it. Making something from nothing. Building and inspiring a team. Learning I can do hard things. I can’t believe how uncertain and scared I was when I started. Now I feel confident and excited for any new venture (and adventure).

BEN: What’s your favorite color?

SA: Gold.

BEN: If you could tell your thirteen year old self something from her future what do you think would surprise her most?

SA: You’ll meet Michael Jordan. The Cubs will win the World Series. You’ll help elect the first black President. You’re going to be 40 and single and really happy.

BEN: What’s your favorite movie from growing up ?

SA: Jerry Maguire

BEN: What has been a challenge that you’ve faced in your life, how have you lived with it, and what has it taught you for the future?

SA: Losing my dad when I was 28. Unfortunately, losing a parent is something that most of us will face but it’s still a miserable club. I’ve gotten through because I’ve learned that you never really lose the ones you love. As cheesy as it sounds, it’s taught me to take nothing for granted and to make the most of every day. Take the trip. Show up for the ones you love. Buy the purse (or the dress, or the shoes). Start the company. Call your mom. Take care of your mind and body. Celebrate everything.

BEN: All time favorite song?

SA: Bling (Confession of a King) by The Killers

BEN: What is an important and unexpected change you’ve made in your life?

SA: I’m on my fifth career and still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. I’m currently pivoting from being a tech exec / entrepreneur to being a restaurateur. I’m opening a fine dining restaurant that aspires to combine the revelry of a friend’s dinner party with avant-garde Michelin level cuisine. As daunting as the hospitality industry is, we’re committed to building something memorable and magical.

BEN: Which vault are you and why?

SA: The Ones Vault. Cause there’s nothing in this world I wouldn’t do for the people I love. And is there anything in this world more beautiful than unconditional love?
